About Us
What is it?
Welcome to the Xavier Engineering Physics Senior's design project for the class of 2021. Combining knowledge over the last four years, we incorporate multiple courses into the construction of our product: MASKcc. This mask utilizes real-time speech to text technology to address a flaw in the mask culture; covering the speaker's mouth. While clear mask solutions have been deployed, we believe that the MASKcc can elevate the solution to this problem.

Why Engineering Physics?
Growing up I didn't really care for science, but I did love math. I never once considered being an engineer until senior year when I started applying to colleges.
However, the rigorous course load required for an engineering degree combined with the overall lack of female representation within engineering made it feel like the perfect challenge for me. Outside of school I can probably be found playing pick-up basketball or hanging out with friends

Why Engineering Physics?
Ever since I was in middle school, I wanted to become an engineer. As I progressed through high school and university, I wanted to focus in more on electrical engineering – more specifically signal processing. Outside of class I like to weight-lift, play volleyball, and cook!

Why Engineering Physics?
I became involved with engineering and the other STEM fields because I've always felt that mathematical knowledge comes easy to me, so being able to apply it in various ways in science and engineering is exciting to me. I have also been intrigued by science-fiction and video games since a young age. Outside of the classrooms, I run to stay physically in-shape and I play the trombone as a member of Xavier’s pep band among other on-campus involvements

Why Engineering Physics?
I chose engineering physics as my major because I wanted to learn how the world works but from a different perspective. I have always been curious about life from a young age, and I felt physics was the right field for me. The information I learned from these classes have helped both in a logical sense, but a spiritual one as well. My pastimes are playing video games and biking around campus.
